Six live models will come to the clinic, representing all Fitzpatrick skin types from I to VI.
You will perform complete procedures under Jana’s direct supervision.
You will practice consultations, including intake, contraindication screening, and consent forms.
You will develop your technique, including handpiece positioning, passes, and assessing the skin’s response to treatment.
You will receive personalized, real-time feedback from Jana during every procedure.

Equipment Training - 3 hrs
Candela GentleMax Pro® — settings, parameters, and treatment protocols
Alexandrite 755 nm — optimal skin types, treatment techniques, and application specifics
Diode 810 nm — settings, technique, and safety protocol
Nd:YAG 1064 nm — working with darker skin types and procedure-specific considerations
Wavelength, fluence, pulse duration, and spot size — understanding each parameter

Laser Technology & Skin Fundamentals - 5 hrs
Skin structure — anatomy, skin types, characteristics of male and female skin, and seasonal changes
Hair structure and growth cycles — hormones, hair types, and stages of development
The Fitzpatrick scale — all 6 skin types and the appropriate approach for each one
Laser types — IPL, Alexandrite, Diode, and Nd:YAG: operating principles, characteristics, and differences
Contraindications — absolute and relative contraindications, as well as possible complications
Before and after the procedure — preparation guidelines, aftercare, and client recommendations
Client consultation — intake protocol, data collection, and an individualized approach
Clinical considerations — topical anesthesia and appropriate conditions for use
