GentleMax Pro™

The GentleMax Pro™ is the gold standard for effective hair removal in skin types I-VI, which includes most skin types. It is a dual wavelength laser platform that combines a fast and powerful 755nm Alexandrite laser with an equally powerful 1064nm Nd:YAG laser for high performance treatment capabilities in terms of speed, efficacy, ease-of-use, performance, proven results, and patient satisfaction.

For many women in New York City and around the world, hair removal is a regular part of the self-care routine. Removing unwanted body hair can make you feel beautiful, sexy, confident, and comfortable in your own silky smooth skin.

There are many methods out there for hair removal, including shaving and waxing. For maximum and lasting results with minimal discomfort, laser hair removal is a great option.

Unlike waxing or threading, laser hair removal doesn't require a lot of hair. You just need a hair that has been generated or begun to grow within the follicle. In fact, we often ask patients to shave the day before, because the less hair that's sticking out from the skin, the less of a source it is to be heated up.

There is almost no downside besides just the normal redness right after the procedure (as an effect of laser burning the hair follicles)  that could be easily calmed with a special nurturing creams.

Post-treatment, patients should avoid the sun post-procedure when the skin is still somewhat inflamed. Although patients should be informed that inflammation is not a bad thing. but an indication that we've delivered enough energy to be effective.

Patients are instructed to avoid waxing, tweezing, threading, electrolysis—anything that is removing the hair from the follicle—for at least two weeks.

Typically, permanent hair removal requires 4-6 treatments, but some patients require more. We offer an individual approach to all our customers and build the treatment plan that works the best for you.

With The GentleMax Pro™ laser hair removal is no longer associates with pain or discomfort.Compared to plucking hair or waxing, which tear the hair out of your skin by the root, or shaving, which comes with the risk of accidentally cutting your skin, laser hair removal is both safe and pain-free.

  • How does laser hair removal for men work?
As the name suggests, laser hair removal treatments involve the use of laser light technology. These lasers emit pulses of light energy into the skin to target the root and hair follicles. Once the root and follicle are destroyed, hair can no longer grow, and the result is permanent hair reduction
  • How many sessions do I need?
Depending on the size of the area, most clients need multiple hair-removal sessions to see the best results. That’s because hair, as it grows, goes through three different stages. The laser is only effective on hair that’s in the growth phase, and individual hairs are always in different phases. Hair must be in the active growth stage for laser hair removal to be effective. With multiple treatments spread out over weeks, the laser can capture every hair in the growth phase.
  • Is laser hair removal permanent?
Everyone’s body reacts differently to laser treatments. Some people see permanent results, while others only see temporary hair reduction. Treatment is most effective on people with light skin and dark hair. It is more challenging to eliminate hair growth on people with fair skin and light hair, as well as from people with a dark skin tone and dark hair. Once treatment sessions are complete, some people will see permanent hair loss. Others may need to return for a touch-up treatment in a year or two. The success of the procedure depends upon the individual and how many treatments they have.
  • What to do before and after laser hair removal?
If you’re ready to get laser hair removal, start by consulting with a certified and licensed professional. Consultations with Laser by Jana Bay are entirely free and can be scheduled online or overthe phone. During your initial consultation, your laser technician will explain what the procedure entails and examine the area and estimate how many sessions you’ll need. General recommendations before the procedure: • Shave the hair in the desired area the day before laser epilation • There should be no deodorant in the armpit area. • Do not sunbath 2 weeks before • For 2-3 weeks, do not use wax, epilator, sugaring
  • What to expect after treatment?
After treatment, it’s common to experience some slight discomfort. Many people see redness and swelling in the area, especially within the first few hours after treatment. But what you do afterward is just as important as what you do to prepare. General recommendations after the procedure: • Do not sunbath for 2 weeks after the procedure • In the first 2-3 days, you should not overheat in the bath or sauna • Do not use alcohol body lotions for the first day • Mild exfoliation 6 days after the procedure • Wear loose clothing so that you don’t sweat in the treated area • For the first 48 hours after a session, avoid working out
